Last year, Trajan Langdon joined the Cleveland Cavaliers front office after leaving the then-defending champion San Antonio Spurs as a scout. During Langdon’s tenure with the Cavs, he worked closely with the team’s general manager, David Griffin, on various basketball and front office matters, worked with their community relations team on player programs, and he was responsible for scouting both teams along with D League and college players.
Now Langdon will be joining the Nets as the assistant general manager to new general manager Sean Marks, also a former member of the San Antonio Spurs front office.
Following from an official Brooklyn Nets press release.
The Brooklyn Nets have named Trajan Langdon as assistant general manager.
“We are very pleased to welcome Trajan and his family to the Brooklyn Nets,” said General Manager Sean Marks. “Trajan is someone I worked with closely at the Spurs, and he brings a unique combination of NBA and European experience to the position. Trajan’s recent front office post with Cleveland added to his professional resume, and I want to thank the Cavs for their cooperation in this effort. The Nets look forward to Trajan’s contributions.”
Langdon joining the Nets also adds to the lure of the Nets wanting either former members of the San Antonio Spurs organization or former Duke University alumni and Langdon hits both of those criteria. It is currently unclear what will happen to former assistant general manager Frank Zanin, who was interim GM when Billy King was removed from power.
