Over the weekend, James Harden, Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets were knocked out of the playoffs by the Milwaukee Bucks. While the off-season has begun, Harden is far from taking a vacation. Earlier today, he announced that he would be joining Durant and Team USA as they travel to Tokyo, Japan for the 2021 Summer Olympic Games. In addition, he will work with rapper Trae The Truth to launch a scholarship fund for underprivileged students in the greater Houston, Texas area.
“[I am] proud to announce, this Trae Day weekend, I will be teaming up with James Harden. We decided to give out ten TraeDay scholarships to [high school] graduates accepted into college or [students who are] already in college,” Trae The Truth wrote on Instagram.
Students interested in applying must submit a 250-word essay demonstrating their need for their scholarship. From there, the students selected to receive the scholarship will attend the annual Trae Day celebration. The deadline to apply is July 5.
