Toure’ Murry spent some time with the Washington Wizards organization last season after signing a 10-day contract, and will now be returning to the team. Murry signed a non-guarenteed deal with the Wizards for training camp, where he will be fighting for a spot that doesn’t appear open.
Washington already has starting guards John Wall and Bradley Beal, while already having Ramon Sessions, Garrett Temple, and Gary Neal to bring off the bench. Training camp will be a good opportunity for Murry to get acquainted with the system so he will be ready if any injury or special circumstances were to occur.
In four games with the Wizards last season, Murry averaged 1.5 points, .3 steals, .3 rebounds, and .3 assists in 4.3 minutes per game. When an opportunity arises, Washington will be comfortable knowing they already have a guy in the organization who is ready to step in.
No team wants to have to go out and sign a player not familiar with the organization and system towards the end of the season, which makes Murry a perfect fit with the Wizards. He has previous experience, and will be able to use training camp to be even more ready.
