The length coming out of the Latvian forward Kristaps Porizingis apparently can not be denied going into the 2015 NBA Draft. Porzingis has stirred up the pot at the top of the draft this year with his phenomenal workouts and undeniable size and skills.
The intrigue around him has grown so much that it has some teams with top 3 picks considering to bring him in to join their roster. Porzingis can shoot, he can get to the rim and he has some nice post moves, all skills that have him climbing up mock draft boards faster than any other player.
It was reported that the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers had some interest in Kristaps and now it appears LA’s interest might be a little more serious.

Every day, front-office fascinations rise with Porzingis. Every day, he’s moving himself closer into contention to become one of the top three picks in the NBA draft on June 25. Los Angeles Lakers officials conducted a workout of Porzingis on Monday night at the franchise’s El Segundo, Calif., practice facility, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
Suddenly, Porzingis is pursuing the Lakers’ pick at No. 2, along with spectacular Ohio State guard D’Angelo Russell and Duke’s Jahlil Okafor. Suddenly, Porzingis is changing this NBA draft.
The immediate and unfair comparisons for Porzingis have him being the next Darko Milicic or Andrea Bargnani only because they were also foreign players that went high. You can’t blame anyone for that but Porzingis is trying to set himself apart from the rest of the pack. He’s not a stiff players like Milicic who really didn’t do anything too amazing was and his postup game is way better than Bargnani already.
Porzginis’ downfall is definitely his size, not his height. He’s way too skinny to be a threat inside but he has some great footwork and has a tendency to finish strong when he does get to the rim. It’s important to remember he’s still a kid at only 19 years of age so he has time to work on his body. The question is, does the team that thinks about selecting him have that time?
