Now retired, former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will suit up and sit on the bench during the Dallas Mavericks’ Tuesday night game vs. the Denver Nuggets. Prior to playing, Romo went through a practice with the team. Romo scored at least one basket in practice:
Despite the success of that shot, Romo doesn’t see himself embarking an NBA career. Romo remarked that in comparison to the Mavs’ players, he “looked like a turtle out there:”
“I’m pretty sure I cannot go play 10 of 15 minutes. I’m pretty sure if I did, I’d probably wake up tomorrow feeling a little sore,” Romo said. “I feel like they’re all seven feet tall. And they’re all long and lean. I look like a turtle out there next to these guys.”
No matter how slow and turtle-like he is, Romo can’t be much slower than Dirk Nowitzki, right? Who among us wouldn’t pay good money to see a foot race between the two?
Anyway, the most pressing question here is: Which no. 9 on the Mavericks was the better turtle? Romo or Rajon Rondo? A majority of Mavs fans would probably vote Romo.
