We have been flooded with Tony Romo rumors for quite some time ever since he lost his starting job to Dak Prescott. While we don’t know where Tony Romo will play in 2017, it appears he has played his final game as a member of the Dallas Cowboys. Ed Werder of ESPN reports that Romo is expecting to be released, not traded.
Recently there was a report out there that suggested that Dallas could receive a 2nd or 3rd round pick to trade Romo so I’m not sure what to believe until Dallas makes a move. A number of teams have an interest in Romo. The question is what would they be willing to pay?

Frankly releasing Romo outright doesn’t make a ton of sense considering Dallas has to pay him $19.6 million just to cut him. Saving $5 million to release a quality quarterback doesn’t make a ton of sense. Who knows what will happen but Romo obviously is pushing for a release so that he can pick the team he wants to play for.
