The Golden State Warriors are one up on the Memphis Grizzlies after another silky performance by the Warriors at home. Stephen Curry is now the MVP which is the perfect decision in my opinion. And it is clear that he is one if the most exciting players in the league. Multiple MVP’s? That remains to be seen. But he’s established that he’s a beast and will continue to be one for years to come.
Now Tony Allen is. Different. He’s wired a little differently from other players. But I think it’s a good thing. That unique wiring makes him irreplaceable in some sense. Now Allen may know that Curry is MVP. But he claims that he’s seen it all before.
“I don’t get a vote, but I acknowledge his MVP status,” Tony Allen said after practice on Monday. “It’s well deserved, I wasn’t surprised.”
“He can shoot the ball pretty good and he got a nice handle,” Allen said when asked what makes Curry special. “But it ain’t nothing I ain’t never seen before.“
Well he may not have a vote now. But he might have one as the NBPA’s ‘Basketball Players Awards’ is looking more and more like a reality.
Allen and the Grizz are one game down. It’s fine giving Curry props. But now it is time to lock Curry up. Lock the MVP up.
Easier said than done.
