Tony Allen, as we all know is a defensive beast, but can we stop calling him “The Grindfather”? That’s just a reach that I cannot condone. Thank you.
Now onto the news of Allen gaining a sore hamstring. I must say he’s hidden it well, did anybody actually clock on? Well head coach of the Grizzlies Dave Joerger has made the news public and reports are now saying that Allen will be a game time decision for game 5 tonight.
“If he wants to be out there, he’ll be ready to get out there,” Joerger said. “He’s been more hurt than I think people realize. He’s given us everything he’s got. The reason we’re tied in this series and the reason we have two wins is because of what he’s been doing just wreaking havoc defensively. It’s amazing. Without him, it would be very difficult.”
“We don’t want to talk about that too much, man, give away too much, man,” Allen said of the injury on 92.9FM ESPN last week after the Grizzlies’ win in Game 2.
Very difficult? Don’t sugar-coat Dave, if he isn’t there for Game 5. You’re certifiably screwed, it’s as simple as that. Curry and Thompson will have a field day. Think Game 4 was bad? Have fun with Game 5 if Allen isn’t gearing up.
