If you were to ask me who I’d want to watch portray one of the notorious mobsters and gangsters America has seen, I wouldn’t even let you finish your sentence before I said… TOM HARDY. After rumours circulating for years that Hardy would be interested in donning the infamous Chicago Mobster Al ‘Scarface’ Capone, it has become official. Hardy confirms that not only the the movie is coming within the year, but it begins shooting in April (Via Tom Hardy’s Instagram):
With Chronicle director Josh Trank linked to the film and Hardy to star in the main role on the project titled ‘Fonzo’, I’m excited. More so about Tom Hardy being in the film and less about an Al Capone movie but this can be done right. We’ll most likely see Hardy play Eddie Brock in Ruben Fleischer’s ‘Venom’ later this year, but it seems with shooting done on that he’s shifted his attention to playing ‘Scarface’.
