The Georgia Bulldogs will part ways with Head Coach Tom Crean after the completion of this year’s basketball season. This move doesn’t come as a shock after the disappointing tenure of the head coach with the Georgia basketball program. The team will have at least one game to play in the 2022 SEC Tournament. Unless they win the entire Tournament as the bottom seed they will not play in another postseason tournament this year. They finished the regular season at 6-25 on the year and 1-17 in SEC play.

Tom Crean took over at Georgia in 2018 after a rocky tenure with the Indiana Hoosiers. In that time with the Georgia Bulldogs, he led the program to an overall record of 47-74 and an SEC record of 15-57. He finished two games above .500 in 2020-21 and never had a winning record in his four years of coaching in the SEC. His one major achievement was former Georgia Bulldog Anthony Edwards being selected first overall in the 2020 NBA Draft.
The AJC is reporting that Georgia basketball coach Tom Crean and the University will part ways at the end of the season. The report says Georgia has been using a search firm for the past two weeks. The Bulldogs are 6-25 in Crean’s fourth season.

The Georgia Bulldogs will play in the first round of the 2022 SEC Tournament on Wednesday against the Vanderbilt Commodores. Georgia is the bottom seed in the SEC this year after only managing to win one SEC game this year. Their one victory came in a stunning 82-76 upset over the Alabama Crimson Tide.
