Tom Coughlin will be watching the playoffs this year from his couch instead of the sidelines. His former team, the New York Giants, are prepping to win their 3rd championship since 2007. Coughlin was the head honcho for the last two championships in New York. Not only has the itch to return to coaching but firmly believes he can still win a title with another organization.
“That would be the whole intent, to be able to be in that position again. Coughlin said via ESPN… As far as going forward, I think that would be the idea, to be able to be in the position the Giants are in now.”
“There’s nothing in front of me that says that right now,” Coughlin said of a potential offer. “It’s just speculation. I’m trying to keep myself in a position where I can make a decision about whatever comes my way.”
Currently, Coughlin works in the NFL offices as a special advisor. His name has come up in rumors to land the Jacksonville job which is where he started his head coaching career. Coughlin has a career record of 170-150 over 20 years as a head coach.
The Giants will play the Packers in the first round of the playoffs.
