Tom Brady and the New England suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of the Denver Broncos and soon to be possible retiree, Peyton Manning, in the AFC Championship game. The loss wasn’t Brady’s finest moment but the four-time Super Bowl Champion and future Hall-of-Famer is getting rewarded for his entire body of work.
Brady, who is already on a team-friendly deal with the Patriots, is signing a contract with the team to keep him under contract through the 2019 season. Brady will be 42 at the end of the 2019 campaign.

Tom Brady turns 39 in August, so his new, agreed-to, 2-year extension gives him chance to play in New England until he's 42 years old.

If Brady does manage to play into 2019, as expected, he would join St. Louis / Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman Jackie Slater, Washington Redskins cornerback Darrell Green, and Detroit Lions Kicker Jason Hanson as the fourth player in NFL history to play 20 or more seasons with same team.
