The Orlando Magic did not have too much free agency buzz and neither did Tobias Harris.
Tobias Harris is one of the most undervalued players in the NBA sitting at the age of 22, and he’s been in the league for 4 years Harris has progressed each year since being selected 19th overall.
The Magic did not have much competition for Harris considering he was a restricted free agent, and Harris wanted to stay in Orlando according to Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders.
Teams more than likely would’ve thrown a big contract his way to lure him away from Orlando, but luckily for the Magic they veered away from Harris to focus on other options.
Harris averaged 17 points and 6 rebounds per game while shooting a career-high 36% from beyond the arc. If Harris can improve on his three point percentage it could open up the Magic’s offense further.
The Orlando Magic bring back Tobias Harris to an already young roster with a ton of potential which Scott Skiles will take over after being hired in the off-season.
The lineup of Payton, Oladipo, Harris, Gordon, and Vucevic while getting rookie guard Mario Hezonja accustomed to the NBA game this team could be exciting to watch. There’s no doubt that Skiles will demand the most out of his players and to play defense.
If this young group buys in and lives up to their potential they could be a dangerous team for the future.
