The Indiana Pacers are gearing up for another run at the Eastern Conference next season, and they haven’t been shy about making improvements to their already solid roster. The Pacers have been active in adding extra guard talent and now they’ve found their backup point guard for the next two seasons.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Pacers have signed guard TJ McConnell to a two-year deal worth $7 million.

TJ McConnell had spent all four years of his professional career with the Philadelphia 76ers and brought a hard-nosed mentality to their second unit. McConnell may not be the most exciting player on either end of the court, but he always plays hard and manages to make an impact in one way or another.
This will bolster an Indiana backcourt that lost last year’s starter Darren Collison to a surprising decision to retire. Since, they’ve added Malcolm Brogdon, Jeremy Lamb and now TJ McConnell.
The Pacers should also be getting Victor Oladipo back from injury, making this one of the better backcourt rotations in the entire league. As long as their health stands up, expect the darkhorse Pacers to be among the Eastern Conference elite again next season.
