Timothee Chalamet and Armie Hammer are interested in reprising their roles for a Call Me By Your Name sequel.
In a recent interview with Time magazine, Chalamet mentioned that he and Hammer are “1000%” in. He also mentions that author André Aciman is on board for the sequel as well.
It also seems like Director Luca Guadagnino is interested in a sequel as well if Michael Stuhlbarg correct.
Stuhlbarg, Chalamet’s father in the film, spoke recently about Guadagnino’s plans for a sequel. “He seems to think that we might be able to pick up the action a few years later to see what’s happened to these characters and the choices they’ve made, and life after this particularly momentous summer for them all. But it sounds like something he’s serious about, and André Aciman is thrilled, I think, about the idea.”
After Call Me By Your Name‘s runaway success, it’s no surprise that a sequel is being planned. The film was one of 2017’s biggest critical and commercial successes, winning the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. It was also nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Original Song.
No concrete plans have been set for the sequel but production will likely move quickly in the next year.
