With a floating jumper in the first quarter, San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan became just the 5th player ever to score 5,000 career playoff points. The shot put him at 5,001 points overall. Tim Duncan has had a Hall-of-Fame worthy career, and is arguably the greatest power forward of all time.
The other four players rounding out the top five are Shaquille O’Neal(5,250), Kobe Bryant(5,640), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar(5,762), and Michael Jordan(5,987).
Tim Duncan does more than just score in the playoffs. Tim Duncan also holds the all time playoffs record for blocks in a career, with 547.
The Spurs will be looking for a win in this game vs. the L.A. Clippers after dropping game 1 107-92. Duncan will continue to add to his point total this postseason, but passing Shaq’s 5,250 will be tough.
