
Variety has reported that Tiffany Haddish is set to produce a new comedy series for HBO. The series, titled Unsubscribed, will examine female blackness, beauty, and identity with a behind-the-scenes at the life an Instagram personality.
Xosha Roquemore and Danielle Henderson are signed on to write and executive produce the series. Roquemore is better known as an actor, most notably as Tamra Webb on The Mindy Project, this is her first foray into the writers’ room. Henderson wrote most recently for Netflix’s upcoming series Maniac. She also has writing credits for Hulu’s Difficult People and HBO’s Divorce.
Haddish and her production company signed a two-year, first-look deal with HBO in January and this series marks the first project between the two companies. She has been a successful stand-up comedian for years but 2017 saw her career take off with her film Girl’s Trip and her stand-up special Tiffany Haddish: She Ready!
Haddish is currently starring in the comedy The Last O.G. opposite Tracy Morgan on TBS. She also is set to star in the upcoming films The Kitchen and The Temp. Her next major project is the film Night School which shes stars in with Kevin Hart and is set to release in September.
