
Rapper T.I. challenges friends and fans alike to boycott designer brand Gucci following the viral image of their black face mask sweater.
Using social media to propel his message, T.I. joins Tamika D. Mallory to call to stop buying and wearing Gucci. The designer brand, popular among Hip Hop artists. The Italian luxury house known for the double g monogram print and signature color scheme faces a culture wide ban.
The sweater at hand featured a black turtleneck, rising above the mouth with a bright red lip-décor outlining the cut-out.

Gucci has since apologized for the top however many including T.I. feel an apology only means so much. The rapper turned activist is not boycotting alone. Hollywood director Spike Lee also announced his boycott of both Gucci and Prada due to racist imagery.

T.I.’s boycott of Gucci includes not purchasing or wearing the brand for three months. Not limited to clothing, the rapper adds shoes, fragrances, handbags and more to the shutout.
