The Oklahoma City Thunder have made it official according to Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski after a couple days of speculation it is officially a done deal.
The Thunder and Billy Donovan have agreed to a five year deal, and Donovan is the only candidate Presti pursued for the job.
Donovan coached The Gators for 19 seasons and won two national championships in his time at Florida.
Superstar Kevin Durant has done his homework on Donovan asking former Gators players what to expect of the Head Coach.
Donovan has long been rumored to be interested in The NBA even after accepting The Orlando Magic job back in 2007 and then changing his mind.
He was offered head coaching positions last season as well, but did not like the opportunities.
The former Gators coach will take over a talented Oklahoma City roster, but the next two seasons are crucial with Kevin Durant a free agent in 2016 and Westbrook in 2017 neither player was consulted of the coaching decision.
If you’re a Thunder fan this is the best coaching candidate possible for winning right now and long term.
The Thunder have underachieved to this point, but with Donovan at the helm he should be able to take this team to a championship.
