So. That was. One sided. At this moment in time you’re probably remembering to literally a couple of days ago in our Western Conference Playoff Preview, I gave Dallas two games against the OKC Thunder, but damn! Dallas were done by the end of the 1st half.
Well knew that Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant were going to be on point, but last night showed me something I don’t think I’ve seen since their NBA Finals appearance. That doesn’t mean I’m saying they’re going to make the Finals, but they look super hungry like a few years ago.
Back to the game, Russ dropped 24 points, 11 assists and 5 boards while Durant had a healthy diet of 23, 5 and 5. Ibaka blocked three shots and grabbed 9 boards for good measure and Enes Kanter, wait for it, rebounded! He grabbed boards ladies & gentlemen! 13 of them. Give them the trophy now! I kid obviously, it was a calculated and well balanced performance by the Thunder.
For the Mavs. Yeeeeea it wasn’t so calculated. Dirk of course got his usual 18 points but there was absolutely nobody else to help him offensively. He was the only Mavs player that ended the game in double digit points. How can you win games when your 2nd scorer has 8 points and it’s Dwight Powell who came off the bench? Are you serious?
Back to the Thunder, it’s their largest margin of victory since becoming the Oklahoma City Thunder and for Dallas. It was their lowest Playoff point total in franchise history. Pretty much says it all and how lopsided this game was.
Expect the upcoming games to be closer than this, but Dallas winning any of them?
