The offseason is in full swing for teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder. Their season might have ended earlier than they wanted but it could be a good thing. They could absolutely use this time to heal and prepare for next season that expects for them to be favorites for the title already. Keep in mind, we haven’t even crowned this season’s champion.
One of the newest and important members of the Thunder team is big man Enes Kanter. He came over in a trade deadline deal with the Utah Jazz that saw Kendrick Perkins leave town. In return, Kanter, Kyle Singler and D.J. Augustin all came to OKC as they were acquired to help the Thunder’s playoff push but ultimately it didn’t work out.
Now that the offseason is in full swing for the Thunder, it appears that same important piece, Enes Kanter is going to be delaying the start of his offseason plans by a few weeks due to arthroscopic knee surgery.

Thunder say center Enes Kanter underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee and will be sidelined 4-6 weeks.

Kanter will be good to go for next season and this surgery all but assures that Enes will be back with OKC for next season. There were some rumblings as to whether he would return to the Thunder or not but he quickly shut those down.
The Thunder roster going into the offseason is solid starting with their 3 stars, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka. They have the ‘Bruise Brothers’ with Kanter and Steven Adams in the middle, D.J. Augustin, Kyle Singler and Mitch McGary coming off the bench and a solid perimeter defender in Andre Roberson.
With a healthy Thunder roster and no one important departing, expect next season for OKC to be a very good one from the start.
