Aubrey McClendon, the former CEO and co-founder of Chesapeake Energy Corp. and a co-owner of the Oklahoma City Thunder, was indicted for conspiring to rig bids to buy oil and natural gas leases in northwest Oklahoma on Tuesday. The Department of Justice said Tuesday the indictment alleges that the conspiracy ran from December 2007 to March 2012.
On Wednesday, in a tragic twist of fate, McClendon was the reported victim in a fatal single car accident.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time a member of the Thunder family has died in a car accident this year. Recently, wife of assistant coach Monty Williams also passed away in a car accident involving another driver.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Thunder and McClendon family.
