According to a report from SI.com on their “Open Court” section, in a blurb at the bottom of it includes this nice little tidbit of information about the Oklahoma City Thunder inquiring about a specific player on the Denver Nuggets, who happens to be a nice volume scorer.
From SI.com
Teams continue to look at Denver as an appealing trade partner. While the Cavs have been trying to extract Timofey Mozgov, league sources say the Thunder have inquired about the availability of Wilson Chandler …
I like how this is just thrown in at the bottom. This could be potentially BIG news if the Thunder are able to pull it off.
The problem is the current situation with Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari. The injury for him, with no timetable set as of now, could mean more time needed from Wilson Chandler, and they can’t get ride of a guy with Chandler’s scoring ability for just nothing.
A good piece will have to be involved. Now does that mean they can dump that horrible Kendrick Perkins contract? Definitely not, I don’t see a team taking Perk unless he’s just a salary dump somewhere.
The Thunder though are known to make some brave moves when needed and as of now, the Thunder are cruising. Let the dog days of the NBA season come though and Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook may need some scoring help. A guy who averages 14 a game as your third option might be a good place to look.
