As an NBA player, signing a new contract gives you a sense of comfort and stability in your life. In the case of new Brooklyn Nets forward Thomas Robinson, signing a new contract means you can take care of some ailments that you might not have been able to take care of before. That comfort and stability allows him to fix some problems.
Robinson underwent successful knee surgery in New York to take care of some knee issues.

Brooklyn Nets forward Thomas Robinson underwent successful arthroscopic surgery to remove torn cartilage from his right knee today at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan. The surgery was performed by Nets’ Medical Director Dr. Riley Williams III.
Robinson, who was injured on Tuesday while working out in New York City, will begin rehab immediately and will be ready for on-court activities before the start of training camp.
Getting a chance to be in Brooklyn, in Robinson’s words, is a chance for him to shut down all the naysayers. He wants to shut down everyone who’s doubted Robinson for things that he wasn’t in control of throughout his career. With a new contract from the Nets and a healthy knee, Robinson will look to make everyone who has criticized the former number five overall pick look foolish.
