Thomas Robinson was traded earlier today in the Arron Afflalo deal, and Robinson was apart of the package sent to Denver making it his 4th time in 2 seasons that he has been traded.
Robinson selected 5th overall in the 2012 draft certainly has not lived up to his selection, but showed some signs of life last season displaying energy off the bench and the size and strength that he can bring to the table. Robinson’s agent acted fast on getting the buyout almost immediately after the trade happened it seems.
Robinson hopes to latch onto a contender in hopes of improving his stock going into free agency next season. Robinson certainly needs a big second half of the season and post season if he does want to do well for himself in free agency.
Since coming into the league he’s averaged 4.6 ppg and 4.4 rebounds in his career, and he has produced some good games mainly in Portland last year but it just isn’t consistent enough. If Robinson can get to a Coach like Rick Carlisle it could be beneficial to his development or even Golden State to provide some depth for The Warriors not that a move is needed for them at this point sitting at 42-9.
Robinson is a high energy guy and can really carve out a niche for himself going into the second half of the season to build on going further into his career.
