THE OMEN (1976)
Stars: Harvey Stephens, Gregory Peck, Lee Remick
Quote: ‘Look at me Damien. It’s all for you!’
Synopsis: When his wife gives birth to a still born at a hospital in Rome, An American ambassador adopts another baby whose mother died in childbirth. He quickly learns his new son is the son of the Devil.
Scare Factor: If creepy children send a chill up your spine, then ‘The Omen’ is for you. Instead of relying on too much physical gore, ‘The Omen’ uses suspense and a convoluted satanic plot to keep the audience on the edge of their seat which makes this creepy classic timeless. If that isn’t enough to get your blood pumping, maybe the rumors of horrible events happening to the cast and crew while filming will, including part of the production crew being killed in a car crash and lightning striking the planes of both Gregory Peck and the films screenwriter. I pretty much don’t want to have kids if they are going to be pushing me off second story balconies or having baboons attack my car. After watching this, you’ll want to cross the street the next time you see a black rottweiler or meet anyone named Damien.
