The Weeknd takes his talents beyond the stage and on screen landing a starring role in Uncut Gems alongside Adam Sandler.
For the first time, The Weeknd graces the silver screen with the upcoming role. The crime-thriller projected to release Christmas 2019 boasts a cast of several widely recognized names including both The Weeknd and Adam Sandler. The IMDb page for the film lists LaKeith Stanfield, Kevin Garnett, Julia Fox and other talents as cast.
The story chronicles a jeweler, Howard Ratner (Sandler) as he attempts to pay debts and recover merchandise. According to TIFF the film “When he makes a series of high-stakes bets that could lead to the windfall of a lifetime, Howard must perform a precarious high-wire act, balancing business, family, and encroaching adversaries on all sides, in his relentless pursuit of the ultimate win”
