This is exactly what we needed in life. The 8th and final season of ‘Game of Thrones’ will feature a new song from The Weeknd, SZA and Travis Scott. Now, with the show winding down it hasn’t necessarily used trap or hip hop music in order to add to it’s already amazing soundtrack but now it seems they’re going to add a twist.
Sources close to Pitchfork confirmed that The Weeknd was first approached to make a song for HBO and Game of Thrones and that’s when he brought on SZA and Travis Scott to collaborate for a top-secret song for the finale. The Weeknd has experience making music for soundtracks as he was the voice behind the soundtrack for the ’50 Shades of Grey’ adaptation. Now, he will be able to add his vocals to another book-turned-show in GoT.
The 8th season of Game of Thrones will premiere on April 14th and continue for 7 episodes before it ends. HBO has a prequel series planned after the eventual end to the show. Let’s hope it ends with a bang-er, including the Weeknd, SZA & Travis Scott.
