The RIAA has announced a huge change that will affect how they determine a record’s certification (Gold, Platinum). With the internet and streaming being such a huge part of how the consumer gets music, the association will now consider numbers in regards to streams when certifying music.
Not only will this new rule apply to future music, it will also applied to already-certified releases. This will make things interesting for artsits.
