Disney has announced that they will release their horror theme superhero film, The New Mutants, on August 28, 2020. The news comes just months after it was removed from the studio’s spring calendar because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The upcoming superhero film follows the story of a group of teenage mutants who are trapped in an Area 51 like facility. In front of the camera, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton and Maisie Williams lead the film. Behind the scenes, director Josh Boone will take the reigns.
In addition to announcing the latest release date for The New Mutants, Disney has also shared the release date for the animated film, Ron’s Gone Wrong. The latest Disney animation will be moved from February 26th to April 23rd.
The New Mutants is expected to hit theaters this summer. In the meantime, check out the trailer for the upcoming X-Men spin-off.
