The Muppets are making their official return to television on ABC in a docu-series this fall, but not without some relationship drama first. Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy reportedly ended their 40-year storied relationship less than a month ago, and it looks like both are moving on.
Meet Denise — the new, younger alleged girlfriend of Kermit the Frog.
Denise is a head of marketing at ABC, and is expected to appear as Kermit’s new girl on The Muppets this fall. Kermit is still assisting on Miss Piggy’s late-night talk show Up Late With Miss Piggy, a situation which is said to be documented on the upcoming ABC series.
The Denise news comes just a day after Miss Piggy was pictured with Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth on Instagram. Hemsworth is set to guest star on The Muppets this fall and is anything but shy about his feelings for Miss Piggy.
Plenty of dramatic, romantic anticipation is brewing for when The Muppets premieres on September 22 at 8PM EST on ABC.
