We are almost an hour away from having our questions finally answered on who will be the number one pick. The Cavaliers have certainly weighed every single option it seems and have welcomed teams to sweep them off their feet with a good trade offer. So far Cleveland’s had a few offers that’s had them listening, but no trade is imminent. The two most aggressive teams trying to acquire the number one pick are Philadelphia and Orlando. With the Arron Afflalo trade to Denver, that deal seems to be dead for Orlando, but Philadelphia has certainly upped their offer from the #3 pick and Thaddeus Young to offering the #3, #10, and #32 pick in the draft. Cleveland has rejected the offer, but that could be to squeeze more out of Philadelphia.
According to Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski, the talks are dead and Cleveland will make the choice of Andrew Wiggins or Jabari Parker. One thing that is for sure, Cavaliers GM David Griffin has everyone guessing on who they’ll take or if they’ll trade out of the number one spot. Cleveland more than likely will keep the pick from the sounds of it, but we do know one thing, Cleveland is in the drivers seat if teams like Philadelphia, Boston, and Orlando do come calling with a better offer once the Cavaliers are on the clock. It all comes down to how bad those teams want Wiggins and what are they willing to give up.
