Sometimes you have to go away for fans to miss you. This is becoming true for The Internet. After a three year absence following the release of Ego Death, The Internet is preparing to release their next album, Hive Mind. In preparation for their July 20th release, The Internet has released the first single from their next album.
“Come Over” is a laid back track to vibe out to this summer. Unlike other songs out today, “Come Over” begins with Syd delivering the hook. Syd sings, “Know you wrong/But ‘sho you right/Home alone/For the night/I can turn you on/With my dirty mind/Say I won’t/Worth a try/Puppy love/Butterflies.” Later on, Syd kicks game to a girl of interest by telling her, “You’re beautiful babe/You’re really something/Stylin’ I gotta say/T-shirt, designer jeans/You got me open/Filled with emotion/Living in ecstacy/Just want you next to me/I’ll bring the champagne/Don’t turn me down babe.”
Expect The Internet to deliver more records over the next few weeks leading up to Hive Mind. For now, check out “Come Over” and if you’re in Chicago, you can check out Syd’s exclusive live set at the Pitchfork Festival.
