For the past two years The Cavaliers have tried to land a superstar before the draft and so far it has failed. The star The Cavs had in mind, Power Forward Kevin Love who could be on his way out of Minnesota this off season. The Cavaliers reportedly offered the number one overall pick and a player in the deal. The Cavaliers earlier this off season were not trying to include the number one pick for Kevin Love, but clearly changed their stance in a move to get Kyrie a second scoring option and possibly lure LeBron back in the same move.
The Cavaliers backed off trade talks as soon as Love’s agent told The Cavs he would opt out in 2015 and wouldn’t consider Cleveland’s long term contract offer. In a realistic viewpoint landing Kevin Love was a long shot anyways for Cleveland anyways. It has been known for the past two years that Love’s desire is to play in California. If Cleveland is smart here they keep the number one pick and take a guy that’ll grow with their young roster. There’s no player available as of right now worthy of trading the number one pick for. At this point though nothing will surprise me if this pick is in fact traded on Thursday.
