
The Chi delivered one of the best first seasons of any television show in 2018. Led by Lena Waithe, the show did a great job of balancing the reality of everyday people living in Chicago with the expectations of the average television viewer. Not to mention, the show showcased breakout performances from Jason Mitchell and Alex R. Hibbert. As a result, the show managed to pick up five nominations at the Black Reel Awards. Following the first season, it was clear that Showtime had no plans of ending the show, but fans weren’t sure when they’d receive it. Today, Showtime delivered all the answers we needed.
Showtime has announced that The Chi will return to the small screen this Spring on Sunday, April 7th at 10 p.m. EST. In addition to announcing the new season, Showtime also dropped off a brand new trailer for season two. The new season is set to bring back Commoni as the executive producer with a star studded cast of Jason Mitchell, Alex R. Hibbert, Jacob Latimore, Yolanda Ross and many more.
