In LeBron James departure from the Cavs in 2010 he made two very close friends in veterans Mike Miller and James Jones.
When James returned to The Cavaliers last summer it was almost a certainty that they’d join him in his quest to bring Cleveland a championship, and here we are.
Tuesday night the Cavaliers swept the Hawks in the Eastern Conference Finals not only capping off a big season, but it meant so much to the city.
According to Jason Lloyd of The Akron Beacon Journal:
LeBron James wandered across the locker room holding a champagne bottle in his left hand when he wrapped each of his arms around Mike Miller and James Jones.
“The big three,” he whispered quietly before taking a swig of champagne.
Not only did James risk quite a bit coming back to Cleveland, but both Jones and Miller did as well.
Miller had an offer on the table with the Denver Nuggets to potentially make more money, but James convinced Miller to join him in Cleveland.
Jones has seen more playing time than Miller, but both have helped change the culture of this franchise that seemed hopeless the past four seasons.
Miller’s charisma and leadership help set the tone for this finals run against Golden State, and has helped up to this point.
Miller has come up big when a big three pointer is needed in the past so who knows Miller could help seal the deal for the Cavaliers in the Finals.
