  • January 13, 2014
  • Gabe Romero

The 2014 Golden Globe Awards were held last night (Jan. 12) at the Beverley Hilton Hotel in California.

Tina Fey & Amy Poehler spared no one in their opening monologue this year.

“‘Masters of Sex’ is the degree I got from Boston College.” said Poehler. “The Blacklist is whose invited to my hotel room tonight. I’m lookin’ at you Somali pirates. ‘I am the captain now,'” responded Fey.

Check out the video below.

’12 Years a Slave’ took home the big prize of Best Motion Picture Drama.

The women of ‘American Hustle’ swept the acting categories as Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams won Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy.

Bryan Cranston and the hit show ‘Breaking Bad’ scooped up 2 awards back to back for Best Actor in a TV Drama and Best TV Drama.

‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ was the surprise winner last night as they also took home two awards for Best TV Comedy and Best Actor in a TV Comedy. The creator is recieving some flack after he made the comment that “winning a Golden Globe is better than saving a human life.”

Another SNL castmate Amy Poehler won her first Golden Globe for ‘Parks and Recreation’. A surprised Poehler said ‘I never win, so I can’t believe I won.” Also, brownie points for making out with Bono.

The best acceptance speech of the night belongs to Cate Blanchett. With a few vodkas under her belt, the actress wonders if people at home can hear the cut off music or if the actors start having a panic attack and makes a Judy Garland barbiturate joke.
