Circulating through every NBA media day this week is the topic of protests and social issues that are becoming increasingly relevant in the arena of professional sports and athletes.
When asked about his response to what’s going on, particularly in response to the recent shootings in Tulsa and Charlotte, Atlanta Hawks forward Thabo Sefolosha had this to say (via KL Choinard of the Hawks staff):

Sefolosha and his NBA peers are specifically on watch for national anthem protests during the 2016-17 season. The NBA and the Players Association have been actively working to address possible protests, while also continuing the efforts of players who wish to be more active in igniting positive solutions and resources in their communities.
Coaches have begun addressing their stances players protesting the anthem, including Gregg Popovich, Steve Kerr, and Doc Rivers, all of whom publicly stated their support for any players who exercise their right to participate in the protest made most prevalent by NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick. During a time that’s become a true nightmare for so many, and considering how many lives have been lost due to nonsense and incompetence, you can understand Sefolosha’s simple feeling of sheer gratitude.
