Boston Celtics point guard Terry Rozier has become something of a meme, ever since the backup point guard was reported to have been a stopping point in a major trade. Trade rumors are constantly flying around the NBA, and Roziers – like practically every relevant player – has been involved in his fair share of them. The rumors don’t bother the former 16th overall draft pick, however. He told Adam Kaufman of CBS Boston that he’s unconcerned:
“Nah, Danny won’t trade me.”
This comment definitely adds fuel to the “making fun of Terry Rozier” flames, which already burned pretty hot.
Rozier is the Celtics’ third-string point guard, but may be second-string next season, as it seems like Marcus Smart’s becoming more of a combo guard, and could even get the start at shooting guard.
Last year for the Celtics, Rozier averaged 5.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 17.1 minutes per game on 36.7 percent shooting.
Rozier was drafted by the Celtics in 2015. He was a standout guard at Louisville, displaying tremendous speed and athleticism in his two seasons in the NCAA. In his sophomore collegiate year, Rozier averaged 17.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per contest.
