North Carolina State Wolfpack freshman guard Terquavion Smith has withdrawn from the 2022 NBA Draft and will return to the program for his sophomore season. Despite getting some favorable feedback and potentially being a late first-round pick, he will return to college and focus on improving his stock for the 2023 NBA Draft. This season in the ACC, Smith was a standout freshman and competed for freshman of the year, but ultimately lost to Duke Blue Devils forward Paolo Banchero.

As a freshman with the North Carolina State Wolfpack, Terquavion Smith averaged 16.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. His points per game, assists per game, and steals per game all finished second on the team this past season. He paired these numbers with a field goal percentage of 39.8 percent and a three-point percentage of 36.9 percent. Building on this great first season will be a significant boost to the Wolfpack roster that needs a go-to player assuming Dereon Seabron stays in the draft.

Head Coach Kevin Keatts still has the support of the Athletic program at North Carolina State but compiling some wins will go a long way in further securing that support. The return of Terquavion Smith for his sophomore season will undoubtedly help the program win basketball games. Smith can now focus on getting better and improving his position in the 2023 NBA Draft.
