It’s hard to imagine two people who have been more busy this summer than Terence Nance and LeBron James. Nance has spent his summer orchestrating and developing his brand as he prepares for the debut of his HBO series, Random Acts of Flyness, on August 3rd. Meanwhile, LeBron James has been flying coast to coast as he supports his son’s AAU team, opens his own school and prepares for his first season with the Los Angeles Lakers. Despite their fast paced lives, the two may be headed on a collision course in the near future.
According to a report from The Wrap, the HBO director is in talks to direct the much talked about sequel to Michael Jordan’s Space Jam. Umberto Gonzalez of The Wrap writes, “Rising director Terence Nance is in advanced negotiations to direct Lebron James in Warner Bros’ Space Jam 2.” If this is true, this appears to be a complete shift in direction from their previous lead candidate, Justin Lin of Fast and Furious. As it stands now, Andrew Dodge of Bad Words will still write the script and Charlie Ebersol will be involved in a producer role. Only time will tell if this is meant to be. In the meantime, you can enjoy Nance’s debut on HBO right now.
