Netflix has tapped Ted Danson and Mike Schur to lead a new series inspired by the award-winning documentary, The Mole Agent.
“A private investigator in Chile hires someone to work as a mole at a retirement home where a client of his suspects the caretakers of elder abuse,” the film’s description reads.
In the serial version of the film, Danson will play the role of Charles, who is “a retired man who gets a new lease on life when he answers an ad from a PI and becomes a mole in a secret investigation.” Meanwhile, Schur will write and executive produce the series alongside Morgan Sackett of Fremulon.
Schur and Danson previously worked together throughout The Good Place. In addition to co-creating The Good Place, Schur has also worked on Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Office and Saturday Night Live. Meanwhile, Danson is best known for his work on CSI, Fargo and Cheers. Since The Good Place wrapped up in 2020, he has gone on to appear in Mr. Mayor and The Orville.
At this time, it is unclear when the full cast will be revealed or when it may debut on Netflix.
