Christopher Miller and Phill Lord’s The LEGO Movie was a delightful surprise in 2014. Naturally, this success persuaded Warner Bros. to do the ‘LEGO’ idea again, but this time, all about Batman! Last week, Warner Bros. debuted a first trailer for The LEGO Batman Movie, and we already have another teaser fresh from the studio.
The teaser takes place in the Wayne manor, featuring Bruce himself and his beloved Alfred. Fresh with satire, the video approaches the touchy matter of Batman’s messy psyche, and acknowledges that no one wants to see his parents murdered yet again (Collider). We’re also treated to a brief cameo from Ben Affleck!
“In the irreverent spirit of fun that made The LEGO Movie a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure: The LEGO Batman Movie. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up” (Warner Bros.).
The LEGO Batman Movie features the voices of Will Arnett, Rosario Dawson, Michael Cera, Zach Galifianakis, Ralph Fiennes, and Mariah Carey, and is under the direction of Chris McKay. The film reaches US theaters on February 10, 2017. Check out the new teaser below!
