Taika Waititi, director of What Do in the Shadows and Thor Ragnarok, is producing a new comedy from actress Sophie Henderson, according to Deadline. Baby, Done will follow Zoe, a tree surgeon who becomes pregnant by her long-term boyfriend and then tries to accomplish her dreams before becoming a mother.
Baby, Done was written by Henderson, whose husband, director Curtis Vowell, is attached to helm the feature. This will be their second collaboration after working together on 2013’s Fantail. Waititi will serve as an executive producer through his New Zealand based company, Piki Films, best known for Netflix’s The Breaker Upperers.
The film is currently in production with Rose Matafeo and Matthew Lewis starring. Matafeo appeared recently in The Breaker Upperers. Lewis is best known for his role in the Harry Potter franchise but appeared last in Girlfriends.
Vowell spoke about he and Henderson’s excitement for the film. “Sophie and I are over the moon to be working with Rose and Matthew – they’re hilarious together and their chemistry is electric. We’re already having a lot of fun making it and can’t wait to deliver it to the world.”
Baby, Done has yet to receive a release date but I’d expect it sometime next year.
