SZA’s S.O.S sits atop the Billboard 200 chart once again. In its second week, S.O.S moved 180,000 units. Within the first two weeks of its release, SZA’s sophomore album has moved nearly 500,000 units.
Sitting right behind SZA, Taylor Swift’s Midnights has moved 155,000 units in the last week, a 12% increase from the previous week. This week, a majority of Swift’s sales were driven by vinyl purchases. To end the year, 68,000 vinyl copies of Midnights were sold.
RM also entered the top ten of the Billboard 200 with Indigo. Sales of his debut album shot up more than 1,200% with the release of Indigo CDs. RM also becomes the first member of BTS to land in the top ten of the Billboard 200 with a solo project.
Heading into the new year, SZA’s S.O.S and Taylor Swift’s Midnights will likely remain in the top ten of the Billboard 200 as there are few major releases set for January. While fans continue to consume their new projects, SZA will embark on the S.O.S Tour beginning in February. Meanwhile, Swift is set to begin the Eras Tour in 2023.
