Broncos defensive tackle Sylvester Williams gave us some insight on who he believes will start at quarterback for the Denver this season. All offseason we have heard that the competition between Mark Sanchez, Trevor Siemian, and Paxton Lynch has been pretty even thus far. In an interview with Sirius XM NFL Radio, Sylvester Williams gave a different perspective on the quarterback situation.
“Right now, they’re giving all three of those guys equal reps, so I don’t think either one of them has created any advantage at this point, because they haven’t consistently been with the ones yet,” Williams said. “But I think, going into the camp, I think Coach Kub kind of let us know he’s going to go with Mark and give Mark the opportunity to see what he can do and then go on from there.”
Mark Sanchez has the most experience so this probably comes with no surprise. Then again the preseason could become a huge indicator as well. If Sanchez struggles I would not be shocked if former 7th round pick Trevor Siemian gets a shot. The plan for first round pick Paxton Lynch will likely be to have him sit and learn for as long as necessary.
