Sylvester Stallone may be done with the Rocky franchise, but he’s not done with television. During a string of announcements from A&E Networks, it was revealed that Stallone is working on a new series called The Tenderloin.
According to The Wrap, The Tenderloin is based on the true story of former New York City cop, Charles Becker. During the early 1900’s, Becker and his band of dirty cops went to war with Italian, Jewish and Irish gangs in the big apple. Becker attempted to use his influence to control the city’s politics through gangs and Tammany Hall. Ultimately, Becker became the first police officer to be sentenced to death by way of the electric chair.
Stephen Kay has signed on to write the pilot for the upcoming series and Branden Aftergood will serve as a producer alongside Balboa. The longtime actor will also serve as the director of the future A&E series. Barry Jossen will assist as an executive producer for A&E Networks. There’s no word on any casting decisions or if Balboa will appear in the series. Who knows? Stay tuned for more updates about this series and more content to be coming to A&E Networks this year.
