There’s still a lot to learn about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the sequel to Marvel’s 2014 blockbuster. In terms of casting, we know about the usual suspects — Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, and Zoe Saldana. The latest rumor is that Sylvester Stallone is being casted in Guardians as well.
According to a report from the NY Daily News, Stallone was seen in Georgia where Guardians was filming at the time. Stallone was photographed walking out of the same Atlanta hotel where the movie’s cast was staying, and he had a script in hand. According to a Daily News’ source, the 69-year-old mega actor got into a car that was usually assigned to Chris Pratt.
Marvel Studios has not yet responded or made official that Stallone is casted in the movie. It was revealed recently that Kurt Russell is joining the Guardians cast in an undisclosed major role. A popular theory is that Russell could be playing Star Lord’s father. Could that actually be Stallone’s role? There could be any number of roles for the veteran Creed actor to be occupying, and his presence would bolster one of the more star-studded rosters on the Marvel slate.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set to release in theaters on May 5, 2017.
