
Superstore, NBC’s retail workplace comedy has officially been picked up by NBC for a fifth season.
Superstore follows the stories and lives of the workers at a fictional big box store, Cloud 9. The series was created by primetime TV vet, Justin Spitzer, who executive produces through his company, the Spitzer Holding Company. David Bernard, Jackie Clarke, Ruben Fleischer, Jonathon Green, and Gabe Miller also serve as executive producers. Superstore stars America Ferrera, Ben Feldman, Lauren Ash, Colton Dunn, Nico Santos, and Nichole Bloom.
Lisa Katz and Tracey Parker, Co-Presidents of Scripted Programming for NBC, commented on the show when they announced the renewal. “Week after week Justin Spitzer, our amazing writers, and cast and crew masterfully deliver a comedy that not only makes us laugh but speaks to the larger issues of the day.”
NBC has renewed most of their major shows early this year as last week they announced recent NBC-convert Brooklyn Nine-Nine is returning for its seventh season. They also announced last week that their Chicago shows are all renewed for next season. The Good Place and New Amsterdam were previously renewed as well.
Superstore is currently airing its fourth season Thursday nights on NBC.
