Supergirl is supposedly coming to the DC universe. After signing on ’22 Jump Street’ writer Oren Uziel to pen the script, the production is finally in works to bring Superman’s Kryptonian cousin to the big screen.
Of course, Kara Zor-El is way more than that, becoming a brand of her own with the recent success, Melissa Benoist had to portray her in the CW’s show ‘Supergirl’ and that of the ‘Supergirl Rebirth’ comics.

Although being a spin-off character to Clark Kent, Kara’s story is a little bit different. She lands on earth over 20 years after Superman has become a superhero, after being stuck in the phantom zone. Not recognizing where she is she tries to destroy the city of Metropolis but later gets ushered into a new life with the help of her cousin.
Now that was how the story played out in ‘Superman: Unbound’ but regardless, fans of DC will be ecstatic to hear this. Since Walter Hamada has taken control of the DC universe they have made it a necessity to go after more light-hearted characters and plots. In addition to that, they want to expand the growing female superhero arsenal at Warner Brothers.
With Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman and Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn being cornerstones in the DCEU Universe, and movies like Batgirl and DC’s Birds of Prey in the works, DC is going all-in on female superheroes. And why shouldn’t they? Gal Gadot is clearly the best superhero we’ve seen on the DC side of things and Margot Robbie was what saved the lackluster movie Suicide Squad. Things may be turning around in the DC universe.
